River was in the time vortex jumping from Earth in 1834 where she had just gone on a  date with the doctor back to Stormcage. In typically was the blink of an eye blink of an eye that she was teleported but this time while in the vortex something grabbed her. She landed hard back in Stormcage and was shocked to see someone lying next to her. “Who the hell are you?” River demanded

“Your new best friend.” he teased in an equally quick tone hardly phased by her expression and demand, jumping to his feet in the next second only to find the floor again groaning from the fall. He immediately quietened himself still flat on the floor only now looking ahead trying to familiarize with the surroundings. “Not easy to make a jump like that.” he muttered mainly to himself pulling up to a sitting position, “You’re in a cage.” He mused looking up at the bars, frowning, “I was hoping to catch onto the TARDIS, why am I with you?” Turning still cross-legged he looked back at the woman who used the time vortex while he was escaping extinction.
