“Trust is good. Control is better.”

She ignored the jibe.

“How will you know unless you try?
Otherwise you and I are going to spend
the rest of our regenerations fighting
and quite frankly I’d rather not waste
           my second chance.”

Laser whirring.

“As if you’d let me walk out of
the TARDIS with a change of heart.
Ha!  EvenI know better than that!

“You and I both know it can never be.
Might as well quit wasting your time with me,
for I could care less about you,
     I have universes to run.
All you have to do is stay out of the way.
     There, no fighting.”

She frowned.

“You can stop it, if you
             try hard enough.”

She stepped forward, lowering her sonic.

            “Find a new purpose, Koschei.
I have faith that you’re certainly up to the task.”

He rolled his eyes.

          “Running away is your speciality.”

   Tsk. Tsk.

He let his hand drop, laser pointed down.

          “It’s who I am.
          This noise, in my head,
          I can’t stop it.

          “I wouldn't—
don’t know what would become of me if it did.”

thistimefeelsnew:

“I won’t fight you.”

She said after a long moment, but her grip
on the sonic nor her aim wavered.

“You really think it’s worth it? The two of us?
Last of our species, fighting it out until one
of us lives and the other dies?”

image

   “Oh don’t start that again.
We’ve been at it for centuries
and you want to stop now all
   because of a little endangered
   species issue?
          I can’t stop it Doctor.”

He considered her words for a moment,
truly in thought before looking up with a grin
and shaking his head with a careless shrug.

“No. I have to go on, my purpose isn’t over.
There is no end Doctor, there will never be an end.
Should the tension stop, then what?”

She flinched as she attempted to duck out of the way
and it clipped her shoulder. She pointed her sonic at him in return.

“Enough, Koschei. I won’t have this nonsense.”

image

   “It’s The Master now.
Really, is that too hard to remember?”

He narrowed his eyes at her sonic, then raised an eyebrow,
lowering his hand with the laser slightly.

“Now correct me if I’m wrong,
but your sonic does not have
     an attack feature,
     last time I checked.”

thistimefeelsnew:

image

“Not without a fight, I assure you.”

image

“Oh, I wouldn’t expect anything less.
   It makes things more…
                           interesting.”

He pulled out his laser screwdriver and
sent a beam of energy her way.

thistimefeelsnew:

image

“You’re going to be the one to put me in the grave, I swear.”

image

“Well, that was the plan all along.”

thistimefeelsnew:

image

“Have I mentioned how much I hate you lately?”

image

“No. We haven’t spoken in decades, remember?”

thistimefeelsnew:

image

“Well, since you’re on my TARDIS … lock the door?”

image

“And there we have it. The plan of the century!”

thistimefeelsnew:

image

“Oh, wrong you are. See - I do care. I can’t have you destroying universes. You ought to know better after what happened last time.”

image

“Ah, but time’s have changed, my dear Doctor. See, in the gap of your absence, I’ve been away at work. Incredibly peaceful, with none to interfere and now you’re telling me that you can’t have me destroying what I want? Tell me, how do you plan on stopping me this time?”
